Our Story
How it all started
The Village Children's Center of Chesterfield or VCC as we call it is a small preschool serving families in the Chesterfield area and beyond.
VCC started over 20 years ago as a play group by a local woman with young children. She saw a need in the community and decided to start Village Children's Center. She spent the next 2 decades providing care and education to the children of Chesterfield.
In 2020 two young women decided to come together and keep VCC alive! Megan Chickering Pratt and Paige Conroy are now the owners and directors of The Village Children's Center of Chesterfield.
Megan and Paige started out as acquaintances, became colleagues and are now best friends!
When the pandemic hit just three months into owning the business it was difficult but with the great families who stuck by when things got tough VCC is continuing to grow and thrive more and more each day!

Learning Through Play
1/2 Day Preschool 8-12
Here at Village Children's Center we believe in hands on learning and the importance of play. We love to get our hands messy and explore our surroundings both in the classroom and outside!

Full Day Preschool 8-2:30
Children enrolled in full day preschool will engage in developmentally appropriate play based activities! The will spend lots of time outside playing and exploring. When “preschool” ends at 12 the full day preschoolers will stay for lunch and quiet time. Full day preschool is great if you are looking to give your child the experience of a full day of school but don’t need care into the evening hours!

REGISTRATION: There is a yearly registration fee of $50
Full Day Childcare 8-5
Children enrolled in full days at VCC will participate in all the same great activities as our 1/2 and full day preschool students but, they will also get more free play time in the afternoons! This program is great for working families. You can go to your full day of work and know that your child is in a safe and nurturing environment.
